At that moment, Shimada and Takinoue had gathered at Shimada Market to figure out their evening plans.
Yuusuke Takinoue: “It really is hot, huh. With this, I’m sure the gym’s just about deadly.”
Makoto Shimada: “It really brings back memories of high school, huh. Just thinking about it makes me want to puke……”
Shimada frantically withstood his rising nausea.
Despite remembering the tough practices and difficult memories of the old days, it didn’t cause them to hate volleyball.
Rather, the fact that they were still involved with volleyball even now meant that they loved it from the bottom of their hearts.
But lately, the two of them had been busy, and had no time to play or watch volleyball.
Yuusuke Takinoue: “Do you have any more vacation days this month?”
Makoto Shimada: “No, none. What about you?”
Yuusuke Takinoue: “Same.”
The two of them looked at each other and sighed.
They thought about how, if they only had more time off, they’d be able to spend more time doing volleyball-related things.
Makoto Shimada: “It would be nice if I could at least watch volleyball while working.”
Yuusuke Takinoue: “That’s asking too much.”
Makoto Shimada: “You’re probably right.”
And with that, the two of them sighed again.
At least for today, they’d have to be satisfied with observing some practice at their old high school’s volleyball club.
